Who Owns What?

Plot (Scene by scene)

Scene 1: Writer is sitting at his desk trying to coming up with idea for a new script utilising the visual style of Christopher Nolan. This is shown by a DVD or image of Nolan’s work on his desk.
Scene 2 : As he writes he begins to transform his words into spirals and cave-like drawings leading off the page. The next shot is the clock on the wall.
Scene 3: The runner is introduced into the film. He is running with a leather bag.
Scene 4 : Bailiffs are banging on the door of a flat as a woman is being evicted. The camera travels through the door to reveal the woman ignoring the harsh banging as she sits by her window painting. A paint pot is sitting on the windowledge and as the wind blows the pot falls causing the paint to spill.
  - Alternative idea: The banging startles her causing her to knock the paint out of the window.
Scene 5 : The paint pours out and off the ledge. The camera then cuts to the paint falling into the runners leather bag.
Scene 6: Writer walks into his bathroom and starts to run a bath.
Scene 7 : Panning shot of a recording studio where a rapper is coming up with ideas for his next song, in the background is a poster of his idol ASAP Rocky. The rapper is sitting at his mixing desk writing lyrics which he decides he doesn't like. He scrunches it up and throws it to the side where a pile of scrunched paper lay.
- Idea: Rapper can be humming the turn as he writes, then plays a section of  ASAP Rocky’s song and realises its too familiar causing him to bin it.
Scene 8 : Rapper picks up the pile of paper, walks over to a bin and drops it in. Before we see the paper drop inside the camera transitions to a shot of the paper falling into the leather bag.
Scene 9 : Photographers Scene (Please see Ken’s scene idea for full description) Two photographers take a photograph of the same object and assumes they are being copied by the other person. After debating who came up with it first the two photographers realise that their photographs combined create a new image.
Scene 10 : The wind blows the two photographs off the table and the scene transitions to them fall into the bag.
Scene 11: A film crew are shooting a film and the runner run by and steals the film roll.
Scene 12 : The Runner runs back to the apartment and the writer opens the door. We then find out that the writer and the runner are the same person. They exchange the leather bag and the writer is left alone in the room.
Scene 13 : The writer enters the bathroom where the bath tub is almost full. He then empties the leather bag into the bath however the objects that was once inside are replaces with colours of paper and materials used to represent what once was. Tap still running, the writer stands above on the edge of the bath admiring his work and leans forward as if he was to fall in.
Scene 14 : (Pool Scene) Writer is underwater watching his creations ( the paper & material) swirl around the water. He spins around in awe.
Scene 15 : Previous scene transforms into a clip of leaves blowing in the wind creating a leaf dance. Traffic light installation, birds flying, soup boiling, and any other ideas relating to the same representation.
Scene 16 : A shot of the writer finishing the last few words of his book as he sits inside of the empty bath tub.

The end

Group ideas:
  • As the writer splashes into the water we combined sounds from the other scenes together to create a knew sound. For example birds chirping, banging of the door, the film director shouting cut etc.
  • In between scenes show writer preparing for this big moment (the bath scene).
  • Attach clear nylon tread to the objects in the pictures allowing us to take control.
