Plato’s Allegory of the Cave

At our last meeting we had decided to change the idea of writing a novel to a script. Having a screenwriter brings a wider connections with the film itself. It starts an on going cycle as we're writing a script for a film about a writer who is writing a script for his film in which he comes up with ideas that actual belong to us the actual writers. But who owns what?

As we discussed our shooting styles Plato's Allergory of the Cave was suggest and it was very inspiring and connected well with out theme. Plato uses shapes formed by shadows to express his point witihin his allerogy. We've decided to use lighting in the background of the first scene where the  screenwriter is coming up with ideas. having a bring light behind him will allow us to capture his shadow along with the objects around him.

In Plato's Allegory of the Cave it implies not all things are as they seem and some people take what they are shown as reality where as if they "turn their heads" then they could see the truth for themselves. This links to 'Who Owns What?' as people often believe that when they create or have an idea of something it then belong to them. However all ideas have sprung from something else as inspiration can be anything and is everywhere. If more people were open to the concept that they dont actual own their ideas then maybe more ideas could be developed into greatness.
